Four Gallon Bulk, Painter Special

This container holds enough magnetic additive to mix with four gallons of ordinary white primer paint. Use a measuring cup to divide the additive. Four cups of additive will be added to each gallon of paint. Pour the paint into a mixing container that is larger than the amount of paint you are using. Then simply pour the dry additive into the paint while stirring with a paint stick. Several seconds of stirring is all that is needed. Our Magically Magnetic paint additive mixes easily with your paint. Alway stir the magnetic paint again before adding more of it to your paint tray. Use a closed cell foam roller to apply the magnetic paint for the smoothest results. Magnetic paint will always show a light sandy texture.

A gallon of magnetic paint will cover an area of approximately 160 to 175 square feet with two coats or about 85 square feet with three to four coats.

Since you most likely will not be mounting and displaying items all the way up to the ceiling or down to the floor or all the way into corners or next to doors and windows, it is often desirable to make a certain area of the wall magnetically attractive. Use painter's tape around the area that you want to be magnetically attractive. This will make a nice straight edge at the border of the magnetic area. Magnetic paint requires at least two coats. More coats means a stronger attraction to magnets. When you have applied enough coats of the magnetic paint that you are satisfied with the attraction, remove the tape and paint the entire wall with your choice of any color finish paint without the additive.

Not all magnets will stick well to magnetic paint. The best magnets to use are sheet magnets and rare earth magnets. Sheet magnets work best if they make solid contact with the magnetic paint. Learn more about how to apply and use magnetic paint.
