Magnetic Picture Hanging Kit (scroll down to purchase)
After reading the following information on hanging traditional picture frames
magnetically, you are going to want to try this for yourself on your
own walls painted with our magnetic paint. To make this easy for you,
we have prepared a magnetic framing kit with everything you will need
to add a super strong magnetic backing to your own picture frames. Each kit contains a roll of 60-mil thick self-adhesive magnetic sheeting,
a bottle of white glue and a roll of single sided corrugated cardboard.
The 60-mil thick magnetic sheeting is much stronger than thinner magnet
and is strongly suggested for the purpose of holding traditional picture
frames on a wall painted with magnetic paint. These kits will allow you
to magnetize many traditional frames. It is usually necessary to cover the entire back of a frame with 60-mil thick
sheet magnet to mount it magnetically. You will also need to bring the
backing of the inside of the frame out to flush with the back edges of
the frame. The magnet needs to make solid contact with the magnetic
mounting surface. To add additional thicknesses of cardboard backing to your frame, simply cut
a piece of corrugated cardboard material slightly smaller than the inside
dimensions of the back of the frame. Trail a thin line of glue in a
scribble or crisscross fashion all over the cardboard backing included
with your frame, making sure to get the glue all the way out to within
a quarter inch of the edge of the backing so the new backing material
will be firmly attached when dry to the original backing. Lay the piece
of single sided corrugated cardboard you just cut on top of the glue
(smooth side up). If you need a second piece to bring the level of the
back flush to or slightly higher than flush with the edges of the frame,
cut and glue in a second piece of the corrugated cardboard, also smooth
side up. Weigh down the freshly glued sheets of corrugated material with
a few books or flip the entire frame over, face up. With the frame
laying face up, use a few books on the front of the frame to weight it
down. Let the glue dry overnight. Last, when the glue is dry, remove the books you used as weights and lay
the frame face down on a flat surface. Cut a piece of magnet sheeting
the same size or just a bit smaller than the cardboard backing. Peel
off the protective paper from the magnet. Carefully lay it down on
the back of the frame with the adhesive side facing the cardboard
backing. Now, smooth out any air pockets and firmly adhere the magnet
by rubbing your hand over the magnet from the center of the frame
outward toward the outer edges of the frame. With this done, you
are now ready to mount the frame magnetically on any wall painted
with Magically Magnetic Paint. Just touch it to the wall. It should
stick fast.
