Magically Magnetic Paint

Magnetically attractive paints include two basic working parts, magnetically attractive particles, the part that makes magnets stick and a liquid paint portion to hold the particles in suspension during application and make them stick to the wall sealing them against deterioration.

The magnetically attractive particles can not actually dissolve in the paint, but rather are simply mixed into the paint and are held in suspension in the paint. These microscopic particles will render a very fine texture to the wall when dry which is unavoidable with any magnetic paint.

What you get with Magically Magnetic Paint Additive is 100% pure magnetic material of a premium particle size and strength, to mix with your own white primer/sealer paint, purchased locally at sale prices, made by a paint manufacturer you know and trust. Magically Magnetic Paint mixes easily in only a few seconds and stays white so it covers easily with any color of latex paint. Only with Magically Magnetic, the more you buy, the less it costs. Magically Magnetic mixes up fresh every time you use it. The pre-mixed liquid paints sit around on store shelves for months while the heavy magnetic materials settle to the bottom forming a hardened layer on the bottom of the can that needs to be chipped loose, broken up and stirred until smooth enough to use. Not even a store's mechanical paint mixer can do the job. This exhausting task must be done by hand.

Because paint with our magnetic additive is heavier and thicker than paint without it, a 1/4" foam roller works best to apply magnetic paint smoothly. As each successive coat of magnetic paint is applied, the number of magnetically attractive particles on the wall increases and the magnetic holding power of the wall increases.

All magnetic paints require at least two coats to hold sheet and rare earth magnets, or up to four coats for maximum strength. Only a very thin layer of magnetically attractive particles is applied to the wall with each coat of magnetic paint, even less with the pre-mixed latex brands.

Magically Magnetic paint additive is formulated to be mixed with either oil based, white, primer/sealer, stain blocker paint or a similar high quality paint with a latex base. Oil based paints are much more heavy duty and thicker than their latex counterparts. Thicker paints hold the magnetic additive particles in suspension better than the thinner latex paints so they are the first choice of paints to mix with our additive. If you can not use oil based paints for any reason, you can use a high quality, latex, primer/sealer, stain blocker paint instead. We have had great success with both Kilz and Zinsser brand latex primer/sealer paints. Do not thin the mixture and never add water to a paint containing magnetic additive. Test each coat of magnetic paint with sheet magnet after it has dried for strength of magnetic attraction. Always allow sufficient time for each coating to dry throughly before adding another coat. When you are satisfied with the strength of attraction and the final coat has dried completely, you can cover the magnetic paint with two coats of any color and brand of latex paint without affecting the magnetic attraction.

Magically Magnetic paint was designed to be used with the new sheet magnets and the more powerful rare earth magnets. Sheet magnets like the ones used on LYTLE magnetic photo frames work very well on walls painted with magnetic paint. Sheet magnets are not as strong as solid magnets for their size, but for their weight, they are very strong. Their weight is spread out over a much larger area. Rare earth magnets are very strong but care should be exercised with their use. Rare earth magnets can snap together very quickly with great force, possibly chipping and throwing broken bits of magnet in the air. Look through our store for many types and styles of rare earth and sheet magnet products to decorate your magnetic walls.

If you want a magnetic paint that's durable, costs less and does its job right, use Magically Magnetic Paint Additive. It's the least expensive because you buy only the magnetic component directly from us, avoiding a hefty middleman mark up. You'll purchase the high quality paint portion inexpensively at a store near you, avoiding very expensive additional shipping costs. Our competitors pre-mixed liquid products must be shipped as a hazardous liquid at very high cost. They can pass this increased shipping expense on to you. Magically Magnetic Paint is chemical free, non-toxic, child and pet-safe and safe around computers and delicate electronic devices. In fact, it's so safe, we're allowed to ship it through the US Mail. Try that with a liquid pre-mixed magnetic paint.

Suggested Coverage For Magnetic Paint

Quart Size

Enough additive to make more than a quart of magnetically attractive paint is only $15.00 and includes 1 free 4" x 6" frame and a sample sheet of self-adhesive magnet.

      Depending on the paint used,

one quart covers an area of approximately 40 to 50 square feet with two coats or about 25 square feet with three to four coats.

We advise using the entire quart of magnetic paint on this size area. The thicker the magnetic paint, the stronger the attraction.

Half Gallon Size

Enough additive to make more than a half gallon of magnetically attractive paint is only $25.00 and includes 1 free 4" x 6" frame and a sample sheet of self-adhesive magnet.

      Depending on the paint used,

a half gallon covers an area of approximately 80 to 100 square feet with two coats or about 50 square feet with three to four coats.

We advise using the entire half gallon of magnetic paint on this size area. The thicker the magnetic paint, the stronger the attraction.

Gallon Size

Enough additive to make more than a gallon of magnetically attractive paint is only $40.00 and includes 1 free 4" x 6" frame and a sample sheet of self-adhesive magnet.

      Depending on the paint used,

one gallon covers an area of approximately 160 to 200 square feet with two coats or about 100 square feet with three to four coats.

We advise using the entire gallon of magnetic paint on this size area. The thicker the magnetic paint, the stronger the attraction.
